Make it personal…

I only create a limited number of commission pieces each year. If you are interested in your own unique creation, please contact me. I would love to get to know you and see how I can create your forever piece!

Let’s chat!

We came across Reb Godin's beautiful work during a visit to The Foyer. We were excited to see her work.  The staff there gave us her card and encouraged us to give her a call.  Thus began a fascination with her beautiful and soul-satisfying artistry.   We purchased that first piece and since then have added to our collection.  We wanted pieces for each of our two daughters for  surprise Christmas presents!  Well, she did two matching pieces with one from a right hand perspective and the other from a left hand perspective to just show the bond between the two girls.  How special was that?

In our beach house in South Carolina we have a wonderful bayou scene she did for us with a tiny egret for effect.  She created it to our precise measurements so that it perfectly fits in its spot.  Of course,  the guests there assume it is a Myrtle Beach scene.  We never tell them differently.  And the small, framed sunset she did that we chose for a perfect spot in our remodeled master bath gives pleasure every single day.  We think she is probably the most gifted of all our local artists.  Friendly, outgoing, always interested in you as a client.  We love how she is advancing into other media, especially her new hummingbird collection!  She is just the best!

Having been a fan of Rebecca’s work for several years, I was excited to have her work on a commission set. Let me tell you, the experience surpassed my wildest dreams! She poured so much thought and love into the canvas and provided my family with a very meaningful finished product that reminds me each day of the most wonderful parts of my life. It was my first commission set with her, but it will not be the last. If you are considering a commissioned piece, I cannot recommend working with Rebecca enough!

Working with Rebecca was such a pleasure! She painted the perfect marsh scene for our den. We greatly appreciated her allowing us to see the piece prior to completion which gave us the opportunity to give input on the final details. She is so talented and her work will bring us joy for many years!

My daughter, Melanie, and I have always loved animals. She had a special love for horses. She learned all she could about their behavior, care and training. And she rode in equestrian competitions for years.

When she was 14 years old, the time came when I had planned to buy her first horse for her. I put up feelers to see what she liked and was interested in and even proposed a very accomplished trained horse that was for sale. We also explored adopting a horse from someone who had more than they wanted. However, none of those ideas quite appealed to Melanie. Then she came across one particular.

His name is Col.(“Cole”), short for Colonel. When they met each other for the first time, they bonded and she fell in love. She knew this was the one for her, and she was the one for him. I got him for her and she spent countless hours strengthening their bond…caring for him, training him, and riding together.

She has a favorite picture of Col and she always wanted to have it made into a large format piece for her wall but the image wasn’t clear enough to be enlarged. Then it occurred to me that perhaps it could be painted. And as a plus, a custom painting would hold more sentimental value. Secretly, I planned the project.
I’ve never contracted custom art to be made but I really wanted to do this for my daughter. I knew Rebecca through her kids being enrolled in my karate school. I knew she was an artist, but all I had seen was her work painting landscapes. I knew they were very good and I know her character to be even better so I figured I’d talk to her as a starting point. I’m glad I did.

Even though it wasn’t something she was accustomed to doing, her passion, creativity and interest in the challenge led her to take on the project.

I wanted to do this only if it would look just like her photo, not simply a representation of Col. Rebecca took a genuine interest in what I was doing and why. She felt that when she can do that, she creates better art. And since this had a specific goal, it would be a good idea. I appreciated that.

She asked questions about my daughter, Col, their relationship, and why I was doing this so she could connect with the project. That effort is not written on the painting or in instructions but it IS evident in every brush stroke.

The end result came out really fantastic and my daughter was very excited about it when I gave it to her. I couldn’t be more pleased. I can’t thank her enough for all the extra effort she took in taking on this project and making it so special.
